Hi, I’m Matt Barnette, and sorry, ladies…I’m married.

I’ve been all over the place. I’m originally from Nashville, Tennessee and currently live in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Somewhere in between I lived in Portland, Oregon for a while and worked on a few movies that went straight to DVD (although one did win a Spirit Award at the NYC Film Festival.)

I edited and produced some tv shows for ESPN and was Creative Director for one of their websites for way too long. I also was a music reviewer for BrutalAsHell.com for a while, although all I ever wrote was non-music related articles. I currently write for Steven Vogel’s Black Lodges blog.

I play drums for a band called Bad Dudes from Dude City, and I play guitar for another band called Enemy Airship. I used to be in a band called The Body Hammer.

In 2009, the Governor of Kentucky made me a Kentucky Colonel. I’m currently working on a book about a strange year of my life and it will hopefully be finished sometime this century.

I watch Pro Wrestling and ain’t ashamed of it.

I do freelance design on a VERY minimal, selective basis. Don’t be afraid to ask me to work on something. Don’t be shocked if I turn you down.
